With the introduction of Sorrento, a new article within the moisture-tech® by Sympatex product family, Sympatex expands its sustainable material portfolio for footwear applications.

moisture-tech® by Sympatex was specifically developed for applications where active moisture management, an optimal foot climate, and sustainability are key requirements. The technology enables rapid moisture absorption and distribution, very short drying times, and robust processing performance.

With Sorrento, Sympatex presents a high-performance material concept for sustainable footwear systems, specifically developed for shoe designs with increased functional requirements. Whether for outdoor and sports applications or for professional and safety footwear, moisture-tech® by Sympatex Sorrento combines efficient moisture management, high wearing comfort, and a sustainable material approach.

Two variants for year-round performance

Sorrento from the moisture-tech® by Sympatex product family is available both with and without a Sympatex membrane, covering a wide range of climatic conditions:

• With membrane:
  Designed for rainy, damp, and changeable weather conditions where reliable weather protection is essential. The combination of active moisture management, high breathability, and proven Sympatex waterproof performance ensures year-round wearing comfort — even under demanding outdoor conditions.
• Without membrane:
  Intended for warm days, heat-intensive applications, and situations where maximum breathability and rapid moisture evaporation are critical. Ideal for summer use, indoor applications, or warm climate zones.

This dual system approach enables manufacturers to develop consistent, year-round collections based on a harmonised material portfolio.

Production also in Asia – Efficiency and proximity to global value chains

Sorrento moisture-tech® by Sympatex materials are also produced in Asia, ensuring close proximity to key footwear manufacturing locations. This allows for efficient supply chains, reduced transport distances, and fast market availability.

Sympatex Digital Fabric Library now also featuring its Footwear portfolio

In time for Lineapelle, Sympatex has expanded its Digital Fabric Library and now makes its complete Footwear portfolio available digitally. In addition to Apparel and C&W laminates, brands and developers can now also view all current materials for footwear applications online.

Use of the platform is free of charge and enables a significantly faster and more efficient sourcing process. At the same time, digital access reduces the need for physical samples and thus helps to cut transport routes, emissions, and resource consumption.
