Unique meeting place for the footwear industry

Lineapelle takes place with a clear focus on ecological sustainability.

In terms of organisation and content, a visit to Lineapelle has long been a must for the leather and shoe industry. From 22nd to 24th of February 2022, exhibitors will be showing their trade visitors the latest trends – so it is not surprising that sustainability, Eco-design and resource conservation are also developing as focal points here.

Sympatex will be exhibiting at Lineapelle for the 13th time in a row. For the company, this platform is a fixed key date twice a year with the opportunity to show the latest trends to a broad specialist audience and to jointly further develop innovative material and production concepts. So for the experts at Sympatex, there’s no question that this February everything revolves around their presence at the trade fair. Dr. Rüdiger Fox, CEO of Sympatex, comments: “This is a milestone this year, especially in COVID-19 times: We are very much looking forward to the special energy of the fair. The topics around innovative recycling approaches for shoes and corresponding technologies already for production will be particularly exciting.”

The most important developments at a glance: With Sympatex’s Fibre2Fibre offering, clothing technology and its range are changing in principle. Recyclability is already standard at Sympatex, and the components of membrane and laminate complement each other to form the so-called polyester mono-material. This means that a building block in the design process of recyclability is already possible. In the case of the Lineapelle, it will therefore be particularly important for Sympatex to know the other suppliers and what they have to offer, so that circular product development with the name Eco-Design becomes self-evident and applicable.

Shoe technology has made an enormous leap forward in the last two years. With the Sympatex membrane, the sister company Utmospheric developed a technology in which an inner shoe is produced in one “cast”. No seams, no waste, no tapes – available in all heights and sizes and produced in Germany. The specially developed production facility in Freilassing, southern Germany is open to visitors right after Lineapelle – this technology will fundamentally change footwear production. Utmospheric developer Mario di Pippo: “Finally I am allowed to talk about the most revolutionary technology I have ever seen without any restrictions. In the first two years of development we had to hold back, but now at the Lineapelle we can report on it with full force”. Sympatex newcomer Christoph Alexander Schnell is also looking forward to his first visit to the trade fair for Sympatex and Utmospheric: “I will show customers that with Sympatex we are pioneers in automated and sustainable shoe technology – vision meets expertise!”

The industry can look forward to seeing what ecological focal points will be shown in the trade fair itself and by the co-exhibitors. Sympatex and the relevant experts can be met from 22.2. to 24.2. in Hall 22 at partner Pidigi’s exhibition stands H15 – H19 and K16 – K20. For appointments before, during and after the trade fair, the colleagues can be reached on LinkedIn and are happy to arrange appointments.
