Sympatex is exhibitor at GPEC

Sympatex participates in the General Police Equipment Exhibition & Conference® from May 31, 2022 – June 2, 2022 (GPEC). In Hall 3, Stand J35 of Messe Frankfurt am Main, Sympatex will be presenting how sustainability works for public procurement at Europe’s largest, closed special trade fair for security authorities.

Knowing challenges, trends and opportunities is more important today than ever. Especially from Eastern Europe – Romania, Slovakia and Hungary – the demand for protective products, operational clothing, military clothing and ABC protection is increasing (Industry Report Work and Protective Clothing 2022, marketmedia24). Correspondingly interesting and innovative exhibitors are available to an international trade audience for future-oriented discussions.

“In public procurement, the topic of sustainability is increasingly coming into focus. Due to the already valid (KrWG) and the soon to come into force legislation (LkSG), the public sector is obliged to procure sustainably. Sympatex has decided to exhibit at the GPEC this year to show that the highest performance and real sustainability are not mutually exclusive in public procurement, but on the contrary are perfectly compatible. Our articles have significantly lower CO2 emissions, less water consumption, are often made of already recycled materials and are mostly recycled and recyclable. Also with a view to the upcoming EU legislation, we can say that we are already meeting the even higher sustainability criteria in the future.” Says Stefan Prestel, Sales Manager Contract and Workwear Sympatex.

“The GPEC® International Trade Fair & Conferences for All Target Groups and Management Levels Internal Security is a unique innovation and information centre for equipment – training – deployment and will once again be a real highlight for all subject and equipment areas with more than 475 exhibitors from 30 countries, participant registrations from 42 countries and an interesting conference and training programme. A current and important aspect for procurement is the question of sustainability, which will be dealt with in a panel discussion of the Sympathy Lab in the open forum in the Mes-sehalle,” says Dr. Wehrstedt Managing Director GPEC.

The GPEC® thrives on exchange and cooperation with the key actors in internal security. At the same time, the trade fair stands for a strong supporting programme. In this context, the Sympathy Lab offers a panel discussion on sustainable procurement. The guests Anna Horschik, lawyer and specialist lawyer for public procurement law and Dr. Rüdiger Fox, Managing Director of Sympatex will discuss – moderated by Kim Scholze, founder of the Sympathy Lab and sustainability expert of the outdoor industry.

“The creation of the Sympathy Lab is the result of my search for a platform that stands for collaboration. Sympathy Lab’s participation in GPEC in Frankfurt is the next fantastic step in ensuring that all the information that initiates real change finds its place to be published – and at the procurer level. So that the right people, with the right expertise and opportunities can be found and made accessible to a broad masses as a source of inspiration.” Kim Scholze.

Since its first event in 2000, GPEC® has developed into Europe’s largest closed special trade fair for police and security authorities – regularly under the patronage of the Federal Minister of the Interior. The GPEC® covers all material and equipment areas, serves as a one-stop shop for the resource conservation of the authorities and is in constant exchange about current needs. A supporting program from conferences to official working group meetings to practical training makes the GPEC® an indispensable industry forum again and again. As a trade fair exclusively for members of the authorities, the GPEC® is therefore once again in its 12th edition the confidential framework for the exchange with management representatives, procurers, technicians and end users from the federal and state governments, from German and the world.
