Living out creativity and simply making clothes – with this passion in his luggage, Stephan Knüppel, founder and owner of Elkline, got into his VW Bulli 20 years ago and started the ignition. Where exactly it should go, he did not know at that time, the way was the goal… Since then, sustainability at Elkline is not only capitalized, but lived in all aspects.

What matters most to you as a brand?

We design urban outdoor clothing that is reliable, sustainable and fairly produced. This clothing accompanies you 365 days a year to new micro adventures. Stylish functional clothing, high quality, contemporary and good-looking.

It looks like you have engineered change. We’re curious! Could you please share with us what’s so unique in terms of design?

The combination of technical function, sustainability and urban style is unique.

Modern, transparent work throughout the entire supply chain is a prerequisite for Sympatex as well as for Elkline. Together we are on the way to pursue sustainable topics step by step.

Apparently, our planet matters to you, too! What’s your approach in that regard?

Together with the Alliance for Sustainable Textiles, we set new goals year after year to make our products environmentally friendly. For example, we are also working on manufacturing products from mono material in order to be able to better guarantee a recycling cycle. We have already succeeded in doing this for T-shirts, but we still have a long way to go for our jackets.
