Munich, Germany – Sympatex Technologies, a global leader in sustainable functional textiles, is thrilled to announce its participation in the upcoming LINEAPELLE fair in Milan from September 17-19, 2024. This prestigious event, known for its focus on leather, accessories, components, synthetics, and models for footwear, leather goods, garments, and furniture, provides an unparalleled platform for Sympatex to showcase its latest innovations.

Sympatex, renowned for its commitment to sustainability and innovation, will introduce two remarkable innovations that redefine performance and sustainability in the world of footwear: moisture-tech by Sympatex® and new non-woven products.

“Sympatex is the sustainable approach for a highly functional and yet fully recyclable membrane. Our laminates are designed to respect the environment while providing durability and comfort for the wearer. At the upcoming LINEAPELLE, we are excited to present two notable innovations – moisture-tech and non-woven – that will redefine performance and sustainability in the world of shoes,” says Kim Scholze, CSO of Sympatex.

Cool Comfort, Dry Performance: Experience moisture-tech by Sympatex®

moisture-tech by Sympatex® offers rapid sweat absorption and dries in a very short time. In the Heat Insulation Test, moisture-tech by Sympatex® demonstrated a 45% reduction in heat inside the shoe compared to other technologies. This not only reduces blister formation but also alleviates heat stress for the wearer. Find out more about moisture-tech by Sympatex® here.

Sustainable Comfort, Proven Performance: Discover non-woven technology

Non-woven laminates provide maximum comfort by eliminating the use of polyurethane foam in the laminate manufacturing process. This innovation has led to a 10% reduction in CO2 emissions and a 15% reduction in water consumption. The life cycle analysis (LCA) confirms that there is no loss in performance or durability, while the environmental impact is significantly reduced.

“We have replaced the polyurethane layer with 100% recycled polyester non-woven fabric. This change has made us more resource-efficient and brought us a decisive step closer to our goal of achieving mono-material and recyclability for the entire laminate. Additionally, the technical performance of our laminate has improved,” says Yasemin Malcolm, Product Manager Footwear at Sympatex.
