Sympathy Lab x ISPO work out approaches and solutions to the problems of our time with the industry's young talent
The project “Sympathy-Lab Workshops x ISPO 2022” will also take place at ISPO Munich from 28 – 30 November 2022. Here, various working groups will produce live round table discussions in the exhibition hall on the relevant topics of sustainability and innovation.
Thematically, the discussion rounds will be dedicated to the new generation of the outdoor industry, who can make a wish – for content, organisation, structure, strategy and attitude. Maximum potential to learn a lot is offered by the topics: “Beloved Retail”, “Sustainable Design”, “Corporate Sustainability”, “Cognitive Consonance”, “Digital Dashion” and “Sustainable Communications”.
Registration and schedule as well as an explanation of the topics can be found on the Sympathy Lab website.
“What is more important to us than the future for our children? Nothing – that’s right,” says Kim Scholze, Chief Sustainable Community Manager and Head of Storytelling at Sympatex.
“And in order for us to be able to push this in all facets of our working and living environments, we need to know what they need. Ecologically and monetarily, it seems obvious, even if it is fragile to the maximum. As far as working worlds and design are concerned, we who shape and decide future paths can still learn a lot – we just have to listen,” Scholze adds.
Since December 2021, the “Sympathy Lab” webinar series has stimulated a visionary, open dialogue around relevant and sustainable topics. In cooperation with different, well-known partners and change leaders, the industry talk will also be held regularly in 2022. Here, we will jointly initiate and learn how circularity can work for the entire outdoor and textile industry.
All information on the webinar, as well as all previously published episodes of the Sym-pathy Lab can be found at: www.sympathy-lab.com.
Sponsor of the Sympathy Lab is membrane manufacturer Sympatex.
“Closing the loop by 2030 is our stated goal at Sympatex. One thing is certain: no company can implement the circular economy model sustainably on its own. What we need is what we call “pre-competitive collaboration”. We need to enter into dialogue and develop systems that serve everyone. That is why we decided to sponsor the Sympathy Lab,” says Dr. Rüdiger Fox, CEO Sympatex.
“There is currently nothing more urgent for our industry than a platform that stands for cooperation. A hub with different opinion leaders, dedicates itself to the things that we have to solve in our industry but cannot solve alone,” adds Carina Dietrich, Business Development & Communication, Sympatex.
” We are very happy about the cooperation with Sympathy Lab. Both platforms, ISPO and Sympathy Lab, stand for collaboration and shape the future of sport. With the five workshops on offer, we want to inspire and provide impulses.” Veronika Gstoettl, ISPO Munich.

Re>Closing the loop. Together. By incorporating a climate-neutral and recyclable Sympatex membrane.
100 billion garments and 23 billion pairs of shoes produced p.a. represent Sympatex‘s future source of new raw material, once they‘ve reached their end of life. The intelligent Sympatex membrane has been used in clothing, shoes, accessories and technical applications since 1986 and guarantees being 100% waterproof, windproof and breathable – in accordance with the performance standard. Intelligent? The membrane develops proportionally increasing breathability at higher activity. New and far above standard is that Sympatex produces functional textiles from recycled and recyclable monomaterials. Sympatex will no longer use new materials from the oil industry in the future. Instead, used textiles are transformed into new, high-quality membranes, laminates and functional textiles. Sympatex is working with selected brand partners worldwide to close the textile cycle together.
