“Smart Textiles” at Expoprotection

Paris / Munich, 15th September 2016 – Sympatex Technologies, the pioneer in the field of sustainable functional textiles, will exhibit again at the Expoprotection fair (7th to 9th November 2016, booth T146). Just in time for the beginning of the leading international work safety fair, the ecological alternative among functional textile specialists will present innovations from the product category “Smart Textiles”. The integrable heating and lighting system was developed especially for the use in jackets, waistcoats and gloves in the workwear sector. In the business sector “corporate wear”, Sympatex puts a focus on materials made of recycled PET bottles and presents the latest laminate developments with the 100% waterproof and windproof as well as optimally breathable and 100% recyclable “guaranteed green” Sympatex membrane.

Innovative new development: Sympatex heating & lighting system

At the Expoprotection fair, Sympatex will introduce the latest generation of integrable heating systems for the individual use in jackets, waistcoats and gloves. The efficient Sympatex Heating System contains battery-powered heating modules in different sizes that can be used flexibly, offering the wearer a great freedom of movement. They are invisible from the outside, easy to control and have a multi-level regulation. They offer a quick and homogeneous heat supply for a lasting, comfortable body temperature. The advantage lies in a higher performance and well-being at work – for instance during construction works and roadworks at freezing outside temperatures. In this context, the new Sympatex Lighting System creates increased safety. The integrable, battery-powered lighting system offers an improved view and visibility by daylight, at dusk and at night. With the help of an operating unit, it is very easy to regulate four different light functions.

New corporate wear laminates made of recycled PET bottles

In the corporate wear sector, the demand for recycled materials is constantly growing. The material basis of these laminates is a yarn that is made of recycled PET bottles. The public transport in Paris (RATP) already uses the two- and three-layer laminates made of recycled PET bottles. The ecological footprint of these products is particularly low because the product is entirely produced in Europe (< 1000 km, from PET bottles collection to laminate production). The recycled PES materials are mono-material and can therefore be completely returned to the recycling process again.

Many other enterprises also trust in Sympatex in order to equip their staff with the ecologically sustainable Sympatex membrane: The French postal service, the French National Railway Company (SNCF), the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) or the Local Police Spain. Other cooperation partners include the French telecommunications cooperation Orange or the French construction specialist Colas mainly using Sympatex softshell materials. Thanks to Sympatex, the security officers of the United Nations are now also protected in all weathers with jackets and softshells.

Innovative footwear technology Moisture-tech® by Sympatex

Moisture-tech® by Sympatex also becomes increasingly popular. The highly functional footwear technology creates an ideal micro climate which is suited perfectly for safety and firefighting boots in particular. Due to the use of extremely absorbent material, moisture is quickly transported away from the foot and is kept away from the lining by an outward suction effect. The advantage is a high level of comfort and dry feet for maximum performance in all weathers. Therefore, the high-performance lining material is the best choice for the police, firefighting and customs sectors. The French police have recently started to use it in their motorcycle boots by Paraboot. In the safety and firefighting footwear sector, Honeywell, Baltes, Rock Fall, Maxguard and Völkl among others use Moisture-tech® by Sympatex already.
