2020 ISPO: with ZIENER, ROECKL SPORTS, ELEMENT and WEAR COLOUR, more brand partners are taking the sustainable path with Sympatex.

Munich / Unterföhring, December 18, 2019 – In conjunction with the 2020 ISPO (January 26-29), Sympatex will kick-off several new ski, snowboard and fashion partnerships in preparation for the 2020/2021 winter season. Sympatex, the ecological pioneer among the functional textile specialists, is especially pleased to see a growing number of ski and outdoor brands taking the sustainable path and making a conscious decision to incorporate the 100 percent recyclable and climate-neutral non-PTFE/PFC membrane from Sympatex. Among the renowned international winter sports and fashion brands that belong to the Sympatex apparel portfolio are ELEMENT (Boardriders Group/US), ROECKL SPORTS (Germany), WEAR COLOUR (Sweden) and ZIENER (Germany). Other long-time Sympatex partners such as BLEED ORGANIC CLOTHING (Germany), BILLABONG (Boardriders Group/US) and DC SHOES (Boardriders Group/US), as well as NOBIS (Canada), NORTHLAND (Austria), ROSSIGNOL (France) and ROTAUF (Switzerland) will once again rely on a sustainable partnership with Sympatex for the next winter season. Freeride brand LAGOPED (France), Swiss running specialists from ON, as well as Innsbruck glove specialist ZANIER are also maintaining a sustainable course with the Munich functional apparel specialist.

Ex4 collection – ZIENER to launch a sustainable Sympatex line for the 2020/2021 winter season

Be one with the elements. Under this motto, new customer ZIENER developed the new Ex4 line of sustainable apparel. This freeride-oriented line, which relies on a timeless look with classic colors, is the Oberammergau company’s new flagship product. The Ex4 line will be available for the 2020/2021 winter season and for the first time will use recycled, non-PFC/PTFE Sympatex membranes incorporated into the triple-layer SABUR MAN / SAFURA LADY jacket, the matching three-layer functional SINGU MAN / SADYA LADY pants, as well as the extremely warm, matching GERMANO PR ski glove model.

ROECKL SPORTS ECO SERIES partners with Sympatex

For the 2020/2021 winter season, glove specialist ROECKL SPORTS is introducing its brand-new Eco SERIES featuring 100 percent recyclable and climate-neutral, non-PTFE/non-PFC membranes from Sympatex. The launch will encompass six ski glove models, two each for women, men and children, with a design that conserves resources wherever possible. The six models boast a high percentage of recycled or recyclable materials and contain no PFCs – all without sacrificing superior performance.

ELEMENT to utilize recycled Sympatex functional materials

Following on the heels of DC SHOES and BILLABONG, both of which have relied on Sympatex materials for three years in a row, ELEMENT will now be the third brand from US-based BOARDRIDERS INC. to integrate the sustainable Sympatex portfolio. All three new jacket models – KOTO TECH, ALDER TECH and PINEWOOD TECH – are made from 100 recycled two-layer Sympatex laminates and boast features such as an ergonomic fit, storm guard flaps and fully-insulated hoods. With an innovative design and ideal weather protection, these stylish functional jackets stand out from the crowd.

“As a company, it’s important for us to do what’s necessary for the environment, even if retailers or end consumers are not yet demanding it. We’re pleased to see that this mindset has finally arrived in our industry and it’s already having an impact, because an entire range of new partners has elected to travel down the path of sustainability with us for the 2020/2021 winter season. By working together, we can create the ideal conditions for closing the textile loop as quickly as possible,” explains Dr. Rüdiger Fox, CEO at Sympatex Technologies. “We’re not one second too early here. After all, the climate discussion initiated by Greta, as a representative of an entire generation, has become the center of attention in only a matter of months and it illustrates that end consumers are changing quicker than we can with our long production cycles,” adds Fox.
