At Techtextil in Frankfurt am Main from 21st to 24th of June 2022, Sympatex will be showcasing its entire spectrum of sustainable innovations (Booth Bayern Innovativ, Hall 12.1, C99). For four days, the leading international trade fair for technical textiles, functional clothing textiles and textile technologies is dedicated to the topics of research, development, planning and consulting with a holistic focus on sustainability.

Performance. Function. Future. Industry experts from all over the world meet at Techtextil every two years. Technical textiles are versatile. Techtextil brings together all areas of application. This is where automotive engineers meet designers and medical technicians meet industrial specialists.

The Ingredient Brand Sympatex uses the get-together of cross-industry experts and provides a holistic overview of its own standards with regard to Design2Recycle and collaboration.

“We are currently the only ingredient brand that has products in its portfolio that are made from 100% recycled textiles. Circularity is already possible at Sympatex – also thanks to the right, sustainable partnerships,” says Kim Scholze, Chief Sustainable Community Manager and Head of Storytelling at Sympatex.

In one place, visitors will find global trends, products and innovations along textile value chains. The offer ranges from yarns and fibers to functional textiles, textile technologies and finishing processes to end products for textile furnishings, performance textiles, functional clothing and fashion. In the context of the increasing awareness of a sustainable circular economy, modern recycling processes will also be presented.

“With the EU Textile Strategy now published, we have a clear roadmap ahead of us on how the European textile industry needs to change. The meeting in June will be an excellent opportunity to present this roadmap and to receive the necessary input from local textile companies,” says Euratex Director General Dirk Vantyghem.

This year, Sustainability@Techtextil is once again focusing on the topic of sustainability. Innovative and sustainable materials and their ecological processing with minimal waste, water consumption and digital solutions will be presented and awarded at the trade fairs.

“Which standard design solutions can be replaced by sustainable innovation? The design is the basis of the process, it sets the direction. That’s why it’s so important to start here. We need to find recyclable solutions to close the textile cycle as quickly as possible. I am looking forward to ambitious companies at Techtextil that are working together in one direction: Cooperation, new ideas and our responsibility in the textile industry not to be satisfied with what is,” says Lisa Polk, Technical Support Apparel, Focus: Design2Recycle, Sympatex.

More than 1,100 exhibitors from 45 countries, numerous joint stand participants and 13 international pavilions are pleased to present their products to an international trade audience. Techtextil makes innovations, new processes and developments as well as progressive approaches visible, among other things with a view to sustainability. This includes new production processes, materials and machines. High investments in research and development in the last three years promise high innovative power.

Re>Closing the loop. Together. By incorporating a climate-neutral and recyclable Sympatex membrane.

100 billion garments and 23 billion pairs of shoes produced p.a. represent Sympatex‘s future source of new raw material, once they‘ve reached their end of life. The intelligent Sympatex membrane has been used in clothing, shoes, accessories and technical applications since 1986 and guarantees being 100% waterproof, windproof and breathable – in accordance with the performance standard. Intelligent? The membrane develops proportionally increasing breathability at higher activity. New and far above standard is that Sympatex produces functional textiles from recycled and recyclable monomaterials. Sympatex will no longer use new materials from the oil industry in the future. Instead, used textiles are transformed into new, high-quality membranes, laminates and functional textiles. Sympatex is working with selected brand partners worldwide to close the textile cycle together.
