The unique breathability offered by footwear featuring Sympatex results from a combination of two special systems in the sole and the upper. The Sympatex Climate Technology specially developed for this purpose integrates flexible air channels to ensure an optimal footwear climate and, in turn, maximum comfort.


Breathability in the upper

The material's innovative construction provides excellent air circulation and maximum breathability in the upper:

  • Moisture is quickly transported away from the foot by way of the extremely hydrophilic lining
  • The lining absorbs large areas of sweat and transports it to the hydrophilic membrane within seconds
  • As the load on the membrane increases it expands - this in turn increases the water vapour transport (breathability)
  • The outer layer incorporates an innovative fabric with a special spacing structure
  • The functional material lies directly against the membrane and provides air circulation with each rolling motion of the foot
  • This increases moisture evaporation in the footwear, supports the body's own temperature regulation and prevents heat build-up

 

Breathability in the sole

In cooperation with Eurosuole S.p.A., we have developed a special technology for optimal breathability in the sole:

  • Porous structure in the outer sole and the silicon intermediate layer
  • Flexible tubes in this intermediate layer actively transport moisture outwards. In spite of this, the footwear remains 100 % waterproof
  • The Sympatex membrane between the outer sole and midsole guarantees breathability and keeps out moisture, dirt and bacteria
  • Total 3-D climate comfort thanks to the integration of Sympatex 3-D AirJet technology
  • The new Eurosuole sole featuring an integrated Sympatex membrane is the first dynamic sole concept on the footwear market
