Laminates for footwear

Sympatex has also developed numerous functional laminates to suit all types of footwear.

1. Upper material laminates

The outer layer, membrane and a warp-knit fabric layer are fused to form a single unit. The lining lies loosely underneath.

Use: lightweight textile boots.

2. Lining laminates

The membrane is attached to the inner lining and the warp-knit fabric layer. The outer fabric is positioned loosely on top.

Use: a variety of warm linings for winter shoes and boots, cold lining for year-round shoes, trekking boots and protective footwear.

3. Heat-fusible laminates

The membrane is attached to a lightweight warp-knit fabric layer to prevent it from being damaged. The laminate thus formed is then ironed onto the leather lining using thermal spot bonding.

Use: elegant city shoes, children’s shoes.
